The Port Chester Dog Park Group is a grassroots community organization established specifically for the purpose of building a dog park in Port Chester. We are a group of Port Chester and surrounding community residents dedicated to creating a fenced in area for our dogs to be able to run, socialize, and play offleash. We are thrilled that the Board of Trustees has approved the location of the upper level of Abendroth Park for our dog park, and now we are in the midst of raising the necessary funds to build the park.
We wanted to take this time and let everyone know that our Crowdtilt campaign has come to an end. We finished with a SOLID $1,000, but better yet, we have made many more people aware of our cause. Since January, our Facebook page has grown to nearly 400 likes, helping our message reach the community. We are still well short of our total but hey this is only the beginning. Next week we will be at Port Chester Day, Saturday August 24th. We invite EVERYONE to come and check us out, get to know us, our cause and consider making a donation.
HEY at least buy a tshirt to show some support!
We are now offering incentives for varying donation levels. Consider honoring the memory of your loved ones or pets by dedicating a section of the Port Chester Dog Park fence to them.

Who wants to take a tour of the future Port Chester Dog Park?? We’ll be doing a walk-through on Saturday, 7/27/13 at 9:30am — come join us!
Unfortunately, we’re not yet allowed to bring dogs to the park… so for now leave your pups at home and come see where they’ll be able to run and play in the future.
If you can’t make this date/time but would like to take a tour, please let us know and we’ll schedule another date as well!
Abendroth Park is off of Touraine Avenue. Because of one way roads, the easiest way to get there from Regent Street is to turn onto Grant Street and then left onto Grandview Avenue and right onto Touraine Avenue. Hopefully the parking lot will be open and you’ll be able to park in there.
We have launched a Crowdtilt fundraising campaign!!! Crowdtilt is an online fundraising website that tracks progress against goals and makes it easy to share with friends, family, and co-workers! The campaign only runs for 28 days so it’s important to get the word out quickly. Click here to launch the Crowdtilt page!
With the Crowdtilt launch we are also introducing incentives for different donation levels. The donation levels and incentives are detailed on the Crowdtilt page. These levels and incentives will expire when the Crowdtilt campaign expires on August 13th.
Many people have asked when is the Port Chester Dog Park opening? All we really need to open the gates for our dogs to be able to run and play… are THE GATES! We are estimating needing approximately 1500 feet of fencing and gates to fully enclose the area. This will include three separate fenced in sections:
- Small Dog Area
- Large and Friendly Dog Area
- Dogs in Training Area (for those pups that need to learn how to play well with others)
The Port Chester Dog Park will open as soon as we can raise enough funds and get the fencing and other amenities installed. We are hoping to raise the necessary funds in the next 6 months, but this will really depend on whether people like you will support and fundraise for this project.
Please donate via Crowdtilt or our Donate Now link on this website.
Thank you for your support!
We are now accepting credit card donations – a quick and easy way to donate towards the opening of the Port Chester Dog Park. Thanks to Friends of Westchester County Parks, all donations are tax deductible!!
We need everybody’s support in order to fund the fencing, benches, and amenities necessary for the opening of the Port Chester Dog Park!
In addition to whatever donation you can give, we also need your help getting the word out and sharing this website with friends and family.
Looking forward to seeing you at the Port Chester Dog Park!!
